Mapestone Joint is a solvent-free, one-component polyurethane binder with a characteristic odour.
Mapestone Joint allows to grout joints that have already been filled with properly sized aggregates and to obtain pervious
and flexible natural stone architectural paving.
The resin is poured deep down and binds to the aggregates to form a strong structure that is also elastic. The result is a
system particularly recommended for making architectural road surfaces suitable for vehicles and exposure to high
temperature variations.
One of the highlights of this system concerns the opening times to traffic.
By using Mapestone Joint, pavings:
· are flexible and pervious;
· are proved to be resistant to deicing salts and to thermal shocks;
· prevent moss and grass growth;
· are proved to be resistant to street cleaning operations made with street sweepers;
· are resistant to acids;
· are noise reducing;
· do not need expansion joints;
· allow opening to vehicular traffic in short times, 48 hours after placing at 20°C;
· low pressure application (max. 3 bar) with the product Zème, avoids exposing people or things to violent and
uncontrolled spills of the product.
